REPRODUCTIVE JUSTICE: NOT JUST ABORTION, NOT JUST WOMEN |
CONTRIBUTORS There are multitudes of caring individuals who are working hard to eliminate harmful maternal health practices to save the health and lives of women and babies. I am certainly not alone and others have offered to contribute information about resources that can be used by those challenging the system in their regions. I am thankful for their dedication to bettering the lives of women and their families and for their contributions to this site. Information about sources has been contributed by those listed below. There is a plethora of evidence regarding the harm caused by non-medically necessary interventions in pregnancy, yet they continue to be used and are actually increasing, causing harm and sometimes death to women and babies. This site is designed to provide evidence to those working to change the maternal healthcare system globally. It is an ongoing project and research is added as time allows. If you know of current research that you feel is appropriate, please contact the site owner.
**NOTE**
Medical advancements have saved the lives of women and babies at risk
for injury or death during pregnancy and birth. This site
is not about the doctors who properly use interventions to save lives;
it is about those who use them unethically for profit or convenience. Improperly
used interventions have led to harm and death of women and babies and
obstetrics is the only field in which mortality rates are
rising and non-medically needed interventions such as c-sections are
related to 66% of maternal deaths.
**NOTE** This site is designed to share valid evidence for
those working to change the maternal healthcare system who do not have
access to databases of peered research.
